HLstatsX - Download

HLStatsX Installation Documentation by Franco

Please follow these instructions to install HLStatsX (This particular configuration is for a Counter Strike: Source Server running with MANI Admin Plugin, IIS 6.0, MySQL 4.1, PHP 4.4.1M, ActivePerl-5.8.7.813 and gd-2.0.33-1 on Windows Server 2003). I will also briefly go over running css with stats as a service using firedaemon.

This document will cover the install of PHP 4.4.1, ActivePerl-5.8.7.813, gd-2.0.33-1 and HLStatsX and briefly MySQL. Please follow these instructions in order!

MySQL
- Download MySQL from http://www.mysql.com/ or http://www.mysql.com/downloads/mysql-4.0.html.
- Extract the MySQL zip file into a temporary folder of your choice.
- Run the setup.exe.
- Choose all of the defaults in the MySQL setup wizard.
PHP Installation
- Download php from http://www.php.net/downloads.php (The link to the PHP 4.4.1 Windows Installer is http://www.php.net/get/php-4.4.1-installer.exe/from/a/mirror).
- Run the exe installer file and continue via the advanced installation.
- Choose any directory to install to (I shall use E:PHP).
- Continue until you get to the Mail Configuration and put in your SMTP Mail information.
- Click next then choose to display all errors and click next again.
- Choose your Webserver Type (I will be running via IIS 6.0).
- Select the file extensions (must be at least .php selected).
- Click next and Install.
- You may need to configure the ...Windowsphp.ini file depending on which webserver you are running.
HLStatsX
- Download the lastest version of HLStatsX from http://www.HLStatsX.com/download (Direct link http://www.HLStatsX.com/downloads/HLStatsX_V1.01.zip).
- Extract the files to a directory (for this document I shall use to E:HLStatsX as an example).
- Open the extracted folder and move the "web" folder to your webservers root directory (I shall use E:Inetpubwwwroot as an example as I am running IIS).
- Rename the "web" folder (E:Inetpubwwwrootweb) to "hlstats" (E:Inetpubwwwroothlstats).
MySQL HLStatsX Database Configuration
- Run the MySQL Command Line Client and login then follow the below instructions by typing in the given commands remembering the ; at the end of required commands.
- Create database hlstats by entering the below command:
```
create database hlstats;
```
  You should then recieve the response
```
Query OK, 1 row affected
```
- ```
GRANT ALL ON hlstats.* TO 'root'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'password';
```
  (where 'root'@'localhost' and password may need to be replaced for your username etc). You should then recieve another Query OK response.
- Change to the new database:
```
u hlstats
```
  You should then recieve the response
```
Database changed
```
- Populate the database with the required tables (substitute E:/HLStatsX/hlstats.sql with the path to your hlstats.sql and remember to use / not for directories):

  You should then recieve a lot of Query OK responses etc.
- Populate the database with the required game configuration tables (ie game_css.sql, game_ctf.sql, game_dods.sql, game_hl2mp.sql):

```
  You should then recieve a lot of Query OK responses again.
- ```
INSERT INTO hlstats_Options (keyname, value) 
VALUES ('scripturl', '/hlstats/hlstats.php');

  You should then recieve another Query OK response.

Configuration of HLStatsX config.php

Open E:Inetpubwwwroothlstatsconfig.php and change to these values (replacing with your own values):

Make sure with the above that no paths trail with / at the end

HLStatsX test and Administration
- Open browser and go to to http://localhost/hlstats/hlstats.php?mode=admin and change your admin password.
- As above, you may wish to replace "localhost" with the webaddress of your server.
- If the page does not display then something is not configured correctly.

Configuration of HLStatsX hlstats.conf

Open E:HLStatsXperlhlstats.conf and change to these values (replacing with your own values):

Configuration of autoexec.cfg
- Open ...hl2servercstrikecfgautoexec.cfg and add these values:

log on
logaddress_add 82.109.244.134:27500
```
Configuration of Mani Admin Plugin
- Open ...hl2servercstrikecfgmani_admin_pluginimmunitylist.txt
- Remove "x" flags from admins (x = make user immune from having cexec commands run against them - This will allow stats to run correctly).

Perl Installation

Download and Installed Perl (5.8.7 Build 813) from http://downloads.activestate.com/ActivePerl/Windows/5.8/ActivePerl-5.8.7.813-MSWin32-x86-148120.msi.
You must now restart the machine.
Run the Command prompt (Start > Run > cmd - or Start > Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.

Go to your Perl install directory (example here is E:Perl):

cd E:Perl

perl -v

You should recieve something like:

This is perl, v5.6.1 built for MSWin32-x86-multi-thread
(with 1 registered patch, see perl -V for more detail)

Perl Configuration

Run Perl Package Manager (Start > Programs > ActivePerl 5.8.7 Build 813 > Perl Package Manager).

Enter the following command:

install dbi

Adding your server to HLStatsX
- Open your browser.
- Go to http://localhost/hlstats/hlstats.php?mode=admin (or http://www.yourdomain.ext/hlstats/hlstats.php?mode=admin).
- Login and click on "Game Settings" then "Counter Strike:Source" (or other installed game).
- Click on "Servers" and add the details for your server, including IP Address, Name and RCON Password.
- Click Apply.
Testing Perl
- Open the Command Prompt and enter these commands, replacing directories with your own:
```
cd E:HLStatsXperl
perl hlstats.pl
```
  You should recieve something like HLStatsX V1.00 Starting, Opening UDP Listen Socket on port 27500 ... ok, HLStatsX:HLStatsX is now running.
- Close the window.
Small Statsme Plugin and Server.cfg Configuration
- The small statsme plugin (or the mani-admin-plugin v1.2 series) is required for accuracy statistics.
- Download the right version for your OS from http://www.siekhe-trophy.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=72 (that topic is for the css Windows version).
- Extract the file.
- Move all files in the extracted ...Statsmecstrikeaddons folder to your ...cstrikeaddons folder
- Move smm_english.txt in the extracted ...Statsmecstrikecfg folder to your ...cstrikecfg folder
- Open ...cstrikecfgserver.cfg and scroll down to find:
```
// Exec files on startup...
// these are placed in the "C:srcdscstrikecfg\" folder.
// No big deal if you don't have these files!
exec banned_users.cfg

exec mani_server.cfg
```
  Add exec smm_settings.cfg to the list.

Configuring smm_settings.cfg

Open notepad or a similar text editing program and paste these lines in:

Change the variables if you wish if you know what you are doing and save the file in ...cstrikecfg as smm_settings.cfg.

Displaying Graphs
- http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/packages/gd.htm links to the a setup program for gd graphics library which is needed to display graphs. http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/gnuwin32/gd-2.0.33-1.exe?download is the direct link.
- Run the setup and select "Full Installation".
- Now you will need to update your PHP installation to use gd2:
  - Download "PHP 4.4.1 zip package" from http://www.php.net/downloads.php
  - Extract the files to a temporary folder (I will use .../php-4.4.1-Win32 as an example)
  - Move the .../php-4.4.1-Win32/dlls and .../php-4.4.1-Win32/extensions folders to your PHP install directory (E:PHP)
  - Copy E:PHPgds32.dll to E:Windows
  - Open E:Windowsphp.ini
  - Find the lines:
```
; Directory in which the loadable extensions (modules) reside.
extension_dir = 
```
    and change to the below value (remember to use / not with windows:
```
; Directory in which the loadable extensions (modules) reside.
extension_dir = "E:/PHP/extensions"
```
    Now find:
```
;extension=php_gd2.dll

Remove the ";" from this line to enable it as shown below:

extension=php_gd2.dll
```
  - Save php.ini

Configuring the server

In order to run the server with the stats as a service, I suggest using FireDaemon Service Manager (http://www.firedaemon.com/)
Create a new service in FireDaemon with these settings (replacing directories for your own):
```
Name: HLStatsX
Working Directory: E:HLStatsXperl
Executable: E:Perlinperl.exe
Parameters: hlstats.pl
```
Click "Install"

Create another service to run the server as below:

Name: CSS Server
Working Directory: E:hl2servercstrike
Executable: D:hl2serversrcds.exe
Parameters: -console -game cstrike +maxplayers 5 +map cs_compound
While still in the window, click the "Dependancies" tab.
Add HLStatsX

Click "Install"

Running the server
- The HLStatsX server setup should now be complete, in order to start the server from firedaemon, just click the "CSS Server" in the list and then press the Play button. The "HLStatsX" service will start automatically if you added it to the dependancies of the CSS Server as above. They will, however, not stop together so if you want to stop them, you will need to do so seperately.
